A day in the life...

So, I am a day behind in the blogging world. OOPS. Bryan is out of work for a week (possibly more) due to a knee injury, so we have been having some much needed family time! Yesterday we spent the day at home, playing with Bentley of course! I even got to take a nap with the little guy<3

Thanks to my love for capturing this precious moment of Bentley nursing to sleep!

After nap time, it was time to get ready for our weekly class. Bentley attends a Sign Language/Music Movement class every Monday. He loves playing with the kids, learning new things and exploring with all the new activities! One of his very good friends Rowan has joined the class as well, which makes it that much more fun!

I love that you can just the pure joy & happiness in their smiles!

We came home after our class & got straight in the bath! Daddy did the honors while mommy cleaned up from dinner (thanks Daddy!) Bentley is a reader which I totally love and adore; he is always grabbing the nearest book and immediately starts flipping the pages and mumbling to himself. He has some bath time books and of course, Bryan caught him reading in the bath!

After bath time, we do our nightly routine of massage, pjs, hair and teeth brushing, goodnight book, goodnight kisses and then he gets nursed to sleep. <3

Play date !

Since I am car-less right now, I find it hard to get out of the house when I need/want to. Luckily, I have a close friend who lives VERY close to me and our boys are only a week apart in age! Perfect for play dates! Another plus, we live by Lake Harveston (a residential community surrounding a Lake that has MANY parks along the path!). With the holidays passed us, we finally got a chance to get together! We walked to Lake Harveston with the boys and they played at one of the parks! They had a blast! I love seeing the interaction between Bentley and his friends; it is so sweet! They are also enrolled in the same Baby Music Movement/Sign Language class together! It is SO much fun and a blast to see the babies explore all of the different activities. It is really such a great way for them to explore new things and learn social skills (especially sharing!)

I feel am so blessed to have the friendships that I do. When I got pregnant I had so many people (mainly friends) look down on me and turn their backs away from me. Why? I am not so sure. I mean, I was 20 years old, in a committed relationship, both of us were working, we had our own place and took care of ourselves; why was it so horrible that I was going to become a mother? I still don't have the answer. But, I am grateful that becoming a mother showed me who my true friends are. So, thank you to the ones who stuck by my side and the new friendships I have created since becoming a mommy. I truly treasure our friendship.

Before I post pictures of Bentley's outting with his sweet friend, I am going to give everyone a little update! Bentley is now TALKING up a storm. He says so much stuff (a lot of it I can't understand yet, but its definitely still words!) He says "bayooo" (balloon), "uh oh," "bubble" and of course "mama & dada." He crawls everywhere, but can stand up and walk along side things or if someone is holding his hands, he puts his shapes in his shape sorter, he puts his play coins in his play piggy bank, he saws "awwwww" when he says a baby or animal, and recently he learned how to get off the couch all by himself!!! I am such a proud mama!

Off to do some more playing with my little man while we wait for his Grandma and Grandpa Young to come over for a visit! Another update will come soon, I am sure!

Ooops. I got behind again :(

Okay, so I don't know if now is the perfect time to start blogging again. Since I am in the middle of chasing around a *almost* 1 year old, planning his birthday party, getting ready to start my Spring semester of school, figuring out what I need to do to become a lactation consultant, on top of all of my other daily activities! BUT, I will promise that I will TRY my best!! Heehee!

Well, like I said, Bentley is almost a year old! Well, in a few weeks he will be! We are busy planning his Pirate themed birthday party! I cannot believe that it has already been a year since he came into our world! I am so scared excited to be a mom of a toddler!

I am getting ready to start my next semester of school. I am enrolled in three classes. After this semester, I will have ONE more semester and then I will have my AA in Social and Behavioral Science! How exciting!!!! But that's not it for me! Then I am on to much studying and clinical hours so that I can become a lactation consultant (breastfeeding counselor!) I am so grateful for becoming a mom this early on because it led me to figure out what I want to do with my life (other than be a mom!) Breast feeding is my absolute passion! I have also been working hard on some craft projects. I will be posting pictures of my work every once and a while!

Bryan is still working for Verizon Wireless! He has a love/hate relationship with his company and position. He is not sure what he wants to do with his life yet, so he is comfortable working there and trying to become an Assistant Manager.

We are back in our own place in Murrieta. I am so happy to be in a safe neighborhood now that Bentley is here with us. Hemet was just not the place for him to grow up.

Enough about me! Lets look at some pictures of the little man!
